I'm not sure if it's really something to be pleased about - a lot of people have chosen that type of vehicle in order to be safer, in general or for their kids, and it's unfortunate that it turns out that the rollover appears to pose an offsetting risk to being safer in a non-rollover accident.

I only chose "pleased" because there wasn't an option for "smug". The reason for that is that anybody who looked at a little bit of real data, who did their own research would have come to this conclusion a long time ago. IMHO, the overwhelming majority of people who buy SUVs for "safety" are some variation of fool who have chosen to believe some variation of a marketing campaign instead of thinking for themselves.

There's also the smugness that comes from the fact that their (supposed) safety is coming at my (and everybody else's who is smaller than them) expense. If nobody drove SUVs, nobody would need SUVs - more or less.
