I just bought my Rent tickets. And I've already seen Spamalot, on Broadway... with hank azaria and david hyde pierce.... Of course, I've seen Rent too but that's different...

It was about 2.5 hours.

Thank you. Thank you very much. I'll be here all week. :)

It's about a group of friends in NYC who are all artists of one form or another (musician, writer, etc) and dealing with those who have AIDS. Really much better than my brief description. Go see it.

Well, since I've already seen it and bought tix to go see it again ;)

I lurve Rent. I really enjoyed Spamalot too, but not enough to feel the need to see it again unless it's got Frank N Furter in it.

Rent basically centers around 7 friends. Some are HIV positive. Some are gay. All are poor. There's Benny the evil capitalist as the antagonist. There's kick ass music. There's tears and laughter and a great cast album. It's about friendship and relationships and struggles and joy... It's about 525,600 minutes.... a year in the life of these people, though mostly centered around the end bits of each year... Roger's the musician, Mark's the aspiring filmmaker, Mimi is... ummm, well, she's Mimi... Angel lives up to her name, Collins is a professor... Maureen is a drama queen, Joanne is a legal aid lawyer... You know, reading back over this, it's the bare bones of the show but... well, i can tell you what it's about but i can't explain the emotion....

i have not seen it, but i understand the plot is supposed to be a modern translation of La Bohème - aka, we are all poor waifs who are going to die, but first we're going to sing.
