I would think so. If they object to the killing of animals, communion isn't a problem for them. If they don't eat red meat, then they're fine because it would be holy meat and that probably won't cause dietary problems.
well in the nutritional sense of how our bodies break it down, it's only a little bit of flour and water, but if you truly believe that it is the actual body of Christ, well then i suppose it falls into their beliefs of why they are vegitarian. does human flesh rank the same as animal flesh?
I've actually given this a lot of thought. Since I don't believe in transubstantiation, it's not a problem for me. But if I did, I would still not object, since Christ explicitly told His followers, "Hey... EAT ME!" I'm squicked by consenting cannibalism (like those guys in Germany), but I recognize it as an ethically valid decision.
I rank these choices of food from most ethical to most unethical:
Sources that unambiguously consent (Christ, the Milliways cow, etc.) Non-animal sources Sources produced by animals (honey, milk) Sources that might be considered animals (eggs) Animals not believed to be able to feel much pain (bugs, non-fish seafood) Animals that might feel pain and anxiety, but only briefly (iced fish, humanely slaughtered birds and mammals) Animals that probably feel considerable pain and/or anxiety (veal calves, fish cooked while still alive)
Tofu waffers are an option. But I doubt Il Nova Papa Bennie 16 would approve.
Bod O Christ-NOW IN 2 SALIVATING SALVATION FLAVORS!
If the Cathaholic Church doesnt adapt it will not survive into the next century...at least not in its current form. Perhaps even the end of the Papacy itself. And speaking as a certified advocate of Satan, this may not be an entirely bad thing. Wasnt there a 15th Century Monk who predicted the names of every Pope after his lifetime...along with brief descriptions of their reigns? Seem to remember that after JP2, whom he described as 'The great saint', there were only 2 more...Benedict XVI 'The German' and Peter II 'The Roman'. After that 'The City Of Rome will end'. Which could be interrpreted as some kind of apocalypse/second coming. Or more likely a second Reformation and an end to the primacy of Rome along with posssibly their symbolic cannibalistic rituals as well.
