It was unexpected and pain was debatable (He was not conscience enough to know.)
A week ago we learned that his cancer had come back after 10 years. We were told he was fine and had three months to three years. We got a call yesterday that we needed to get to the hospital ASAP. Ed went after work. I stayed with Anna, because we were both sick. Ed came home last night numb and just went to bed. We received a call around 8am that he died at 5:15am, I think. Unfortunately, I didn't get to see him, but I thought it more important to keep Anna (with fever) at home. Knowing he was going to die anyway, I am regretting that decision.
